Frequently Asked Questions

Can I win an age group award if I race against older kids in a longer distance?

Only if you are racing in the 2 mile race. Because Saturdays are so busy this time of year, we are really trying to put special emphasis on getting the results compiled and doing the awards quickly. Because there are lots of kids running the ½ mile and 1 mile races, if we start switching between those it will get too complicated. Since there are less 2 milers, though, you can run the 2 mile race and be eligible for an award in the 13-14 year old age group, even if you are younger.

Do I need to keep my number and wear it each race I run this year?

Yes, please. This lets us put you in the computer, keep track of all your results, and be more efficient with registration and in compiling race results. If you forget your number, we will write it on a card for you to wear for that race.

Can my parents, siblings, or friends run with me?

Absolutely. They should start at the back of the pack or off to the side, though, so that they don’t get in the way of other kids. Also, as you approach the finish line, they can peel off before you get to the finishing chute and meet you on the other side of the finish line.

stretchWhat am I supposed to do with the card I get at the finish line?

Fill it in and turn it in at the scorers table so we can put you in the “official” results. If you need help, ask a volunteer.

Do I need to wear my Rouge Runners shirt to the Race?

You don’t have to, but we would appreciate it if you did. This helps us keep track of everyone and it looks kind of cool!

Are Private Schools eligible for the RocketKidz Foundation Participation Award?

No. The RocketKidz Award is designated for Public Schools only. We will recognize the Private School with the best participation with a different award.
